Uganda Prepares to Host MEA Digital Transformation Summit 2025: Key Stakeholders Meet ICT Minister
Kampala, Uganda, The Chief Operating Officer of the COMESA Business Council (CBC), Dr. Jonathan Pinifolo, and the CEO of HiPipo, Mr. Innocent Kawooya, NIM, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Joyce Nabosa Ssebugwawo, as part of the ongoing preparations for the Middle East and Africa Digital Transformation Summit (MEA-DTS) 2025.
Uganda is set to host this landmark summit from June 25th to 27th, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, under the theme:
“Driving Digital Transformation for a Connected and Inclusive MEA Region.”
The visit underscored the shared commitment of all partners to ensure a successful and impactful event that accelerates digital and financial inclusion across the region.
The MEA Digital Transformation Summit is co-organized by the COMESA Business Council, the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, and HiPipo, a recognised leader in digital transformation and financial inclusion in Africa. The summit will convene Heads of State, ministers, policymakers, private sector leaders, innovators, and youth changemakers from across the Middle East and Africa.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Ssebugwawo reaffirmed the Ministry’s full support and applauded the initiative’s alignment with Uganda’s Vision 2040, the COMESA digital integration agenda, and Africa’s broader goals for inclusive socio-economic transformation.
With Uganda positioned as a regional innovation hub, the MEA Summit 2025 is expected to highlight actionable strategies for leveraging digital technologies to foster sustainable development, enhance cross-border collaboration, and unlock the full potential of the MEA region.
